At Trinity Chiropractic of Burleson, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different chiropractic services we offer in our BURLESON office.
We are proficient in all techniques and are able to work with any age and comfort level. Here are a few we use.
The Thompson Technique, developed by Dr. J. Clay Thompson, has evolved into a system of analysis and a way of adjusting the full spine. The combination produces precise adjustments and high levels of patient comfort.
A System of Analysis
Early chiropractors noticed that subluxations would produce the appearance of a short, or contracted leg. Using a protocol of comparing leg lengths while the patient turned their head, helped determine whether the subluxation was in the upper, middle or lower back.
After gently lowering you to a prone position, individual drop pieces give way, reducing the amount of energy needed to adjust your spine.
Terminal Point Table
What patients often notice first is our segmental “drop” table. After stepping onto the platform, the table gently lowers you into a horizontal position. This helps preserve any leg length inequality.
Individual cushions or “drop pieces” located along our table surface support each area of your spine until the thrust is delivered. Then, each drop piece gently gives way, reducing the amount of energy needed to move a specific spinal segment.
Popular and Patented
So unique is this approach, Dr. Thompson was granted a patent in 1955. Since then, because of its precision and patient results, it is a technique used around the world.
Diversified Technique Chiropractic technique
A special hand arrangement called a “pisiform contact” is used to deliver a specific thrust at the right place and the right time.
At Maximal Health, we use an adjusting style commonly referred to as “Diversified.” First, an analysis of your spine is performed. This can initially involve a case history and X-ray pictures of your spine.
Subsequent visits may include motion palpation, with the chiropractor feeling the spinal joints move as you turn and bend. Or, a leg check may be performed, to uncover an imbalance in the neck or lower spine.
With the malposition of one or more spinal bones identified, a specific manual thrust is administered. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.
The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint. This sound may be interesting, but is not a guide as to the value or effectiveness of the adjustment.
While improving spinal bio mechanics can reduce nervous system interference's, virtually all joints of the body can be adjusted to help restore proper range of motion.
The ArthroStim® activates proprioceptors and mechanoreceptors without recruiting nocioceptors. In other words, it feels good and works great!
We use the ArthroStim™ adjusting instrument.
Instead of the traditional thrust by hand, this handheld instrument introduces the precise energy needed for optimum correction. Our patients appreciate that we can avoid the twisting, turning or “cracking” of joints.
Instead of a single thrust, the ArthroStim™ delivers a series of “taps.” In fact, 12 taps per second. (Also known as the low beta somatomotor rhythm.) This is so quick, we avoid the all too common reaction of tensing up to “guard” the area being adjusted. (One more reason why we see such great results.)
Variety of Positions
Some types of problems seem to resolve better when the adjustment is delivered while seated or standing, such as a car accident injuries. Naturally, the ArthroStim™ permits this type of flexibility.
It’s also helpful when attending to extremity joints, such TMJ problems, shoulders, knees and other areas where precision is important.
We have chosen this approach because of the great results it produces and the chorus of countless delighted patients who sing its praises:
Quick and often dramatic results
Comfortable and noninvasive
Low force and highly precise
Ideal for seniors and infants
Appreciated by those with arthritis
Most people report a feeling of ease, relaxation and sense of well-being as their spinal structure improves and subluxation patterns improve.
Anatomical model of pregnancy
Resolving subluxations where the sacrum joins the pelvis (hip) helps balance the pelvis and prepare for the optimal delivery of the baby.
Subluxations where the sacrum joins the pelvis (hip) can be quite common during the course of pregnancy. Besides potentially interfering with the baby assuming the normal head-down position in preparation for delivery, it can produce a variety of symptoms in mothers preparing for the culmination of their pregnancy.
The Sacral Subluxation
Developed by the late Larry Webster, D.C., the chiropractic technique he developed and taught chiropractors around the world, helps release stress on the pelvis, relaxing surrounding ligaments and reducing the sacral subluxation to help restore more normal function.
Sacral subluxations may cause the tightening and twisting of pelvic muscles and ligaments, constraining the uterus. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of subluxation and the associated dysfunction of the sacroiliac joint. The result? Neurobiomechanical function in the sacral/pelvic region is improved, benefiting pregnant mothers or others with sacral subluxations.
High Success Rate
The July/August 2002 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reports that 82% of chiropractors using the Webster Technique reported success in reducing the sacral subluxation.
Sometimes when using the Webster Technique, the associated dysfunction of the sacroiliac joint can be reduced with just one adjustment. But usually it takes between three to 10 visits over a several week period.
Because the Webster Technique relies on the inborn intelligence of the mother and baby, there is little risk. The Webster Technique is based on the positive experiences of pregnant patients, the clinical experience of its many practitioners, academic studies on the subject of sacral subluxation and its consequences to proper pelvic function
Corrective Exercises and Equipment
We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
We also provide home care equipment to restore posture your posture.
Apex Cervical Orthosis™ - New Adjustable Height
Many activities in modern daily living place the head in a detrimental forward head posture. The Apex Cervical Orthosis™ is an inexpensive and convenient tool to assist the healthcare professional in restoring a patient’s proper cervical posture. The Apex Cervical Orthosis™ counters the negative forces caused by forward posture, and works to gently reverse kyphotic attitude when used daily under the supervision of a spinal professional.
Instructions for Use
This product must be used under the supervision of your health care professional. To prevent hyperextension, fit the device to the patient by removing one or both lower portions of the device. To remove, slide a sharp blade along the inside edge of the precut areas.
Place patient in supine position on a firm surface. Locate the Apex Cervical Orthosis™ in the area of lordotic loss. The larger angled surface should face the patient’s shoulders. To adjust to the height, carefully remove sections by completing cut along the scored lines. The Apex Cervical Orthosis™ should be used daily, with increasing time intervals. The Apex Cervical Orthosis™ should be used for an initial treatment of 2 minutes. Increase each daily treatment in 1 minute intervals, with a maximum treatment time of 20 minutes.
Spinal & Postural Screenings
Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.
